SMC VBA40A-04 is a booster regulator that raises local air line pressure up to two times the supply without any electrical power, using the incoming compressed air as its energy source. With a 1/2 in port it suits high-flow points of use such as clamping, pressing, blow-off and testing where a single machine needs pressure above the plant main. Running the main line at a lower pressure and boosting only where needed saves energy and compressor load, while the adjustable handle sets the desired outlet pressure.
