The SMC SY53205YOC6FQ is the only 3 position CLOSED CENTER valve in this group: with both coils off the spool centres and blocks all ports, so a cylinder stops and holds wherever it happens to be. It is used in positioning, lifting and tensioning circuits that must pause mid-stroke.
