The SMC SY51315Z1C6 is the only metal-seal, top-ported valve in this group: air leaves through the top face rather than the side, and the metal spool seal gives a 200 million cycle service life against 70 million for rubber-seal siblings. It is used in high-cycle assembly, electronics and test equipment where valve life dominates maintenance cost. It suits long-duty indexing machines, installations plumbed from above, and PLC outputs wired positive common. Metal seals also tolerate low-lubrication and long-dwell service better than rubber.
