SMC EX260SEC1 (EX260-SEC1) - Serial Interface Unit, EtherCAT

SMC EX260SEC1 Serial Interface Unit — EtherCAT SI unit, 32 outputs. SMC EX260-SEC1 is an EtherCAT serial interface (SI) unit for the EX260 integrated fieldbus system, controlling up to 32 solenoid valve outputs on SMC valve manifolds. Output type is Source/PNP (negative common). EtherCAT runs in Direct Mode (no MAC address) at 100 Mbps over standard Ethernet (CAT5), supporting up to 65,535 nodes in daisy-chain topology with segment length to 100 m. It has BUS IN and BUS OUT M12 4-pin D-coded connectors and a 5-pin M12 A-coded power connector. IP67 enclosure for dust and washdown protection. Configured via the SMC EtherCAT XML (ESI) device description file. Compatible with SMC New SY, SV, VQC and S0700 series manifold solenoid valves (same connectable manifolds as EX250).

EX260-SEC1 Applications

Puts an SMC valve manifold directly on an EtherCAT network, driving up to 32 solenoids while its dual M12 BUS IN/OUT ports allow daisy-chaining without external switches. Direct-Mode operation and IP67 protection make it well suited to fast, deterministic machine control mounted at the pneumatics in harsh or washdown areas. Commission with the SMC ESI file in the EtherCAT master; the EX260 supports New SY, SV, VQC and S0700 manifolds.
