
SMC EX250IE2 Input Block — Input block, M12, 4 inputs. SMC EX250-IE2 is an input block for the EX250 integrated input/output fieldbus system used with SMC valve manifolds. It provides 4 inputs via an M12 (5-pin) connector and accepts PNP or NPN sensor input (selectable by switch). Input device supply is 24 VDC, max. 30 mA/point, rated input current approx. 8 mA, with a 0.5 A fuse for overcurrent protection. Enclosure IP67, operating temperature -10 to +50 C, weight 90 g. Input blocks attach to any EX250 SI unit (EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet, PROFIBUS DP, AS-Interface); the total of input/output/power blocks per SI unit is 10 stations max., up to 32 inputs. CE/UKCA and UL listed. Note: the EX250 series is to be discontinued (consider EX260/EX600).

EX250-IE2 Applications
Adds four sensor inputs to an EX250 valve-manifold node so field devices report over the same fieldbus that drives the solenoid valves. The M12 EX250-IE2 selects PNP or NPN sensors by switch and stacks with SI, output and power blocks toward the 10-station/32-input system limit. Its IP67 rating suits dusty or washdown areas at the machine. For new designs SMC recommends the EX260/EX600 series, as EX250 is being discontinued.
