SMC EX245DX1 Digital Input Module — 16-input digital input module, PNP. SMC EX245-DX1 is a digital input module for the EX245 fieldbus system used with SMC valve manifolds. It provides 16 PNP digital inputs via M12 (5-pin) connectors, operating on 24 VDC. Input specification: ON voltage 11 to 30 V, OFF voltage -3 to 5 V, typical input current 4.5 mA at 24 VDC. It offers short-circuit protection with max. supplied current 0.5 A per connector / 2 A per module. Up to 8 modules can be connected to one EX245 manifold, and the EX245 system supports connection to up to 32 solenoid valves plus modular digital input/output. The EX245 series provides high protection (IP-rated washdown) modular I/O for SMC directional-control valve manifolds.

EX245-DX1 Applications

Expands an EX245 valve-manifold node with 16 PNP sensor inputs, letting field devices report to the fieldbus master alongside the manifold's valve outputs. Up to eight EX245-DX1 modules stack on one manifold for high input density near the pneumatics, reducing sensor wiring back to the cabinet. Per-connector short-circuit protection guards field faults. Suited to modular machine builds where digital input needs to sit at the manifold rather than in a remote I/O rack.
