SMC EX240SPR1 Serial Interface Unit — PROFIBUS DP SI unit. SMC EX240-SPR1 is a PROFIBUS-DP serial interface (SI) unit for the EX240 serial transmission fieldbus system used with SMC valve manifolds. It acts as the network gateway/SI unit connecting the manifold to a PROFIBUS-DP master, controlling solenoid valve outputs and, together with EX240 DI units, gathering distributed sensor inputs. The EX240 modular system supports up to 32 inputs/32 outputs with communication cable lengths to 400 m. Power is 24 VDC. The unit is configured with the SMC GSD file downloadable from the SMC website. It integrates with SMC directional-control valve manifolds as a reduced-wiring node.

EX240-SPR1 Applications
