CQ2B16-10S Applications
The SMC CQ2B1610S retracts automatically under spring force when air is removed, making it the fail-safe-retract counterpart to the double acting CQ2B1610D. It is used for spring-return clamps, part ejectors and hold-down fixtures where the rod must pull clear on air loss or emergency stop. Only one air line and a single valve port are needed, reducing valve cost and plumbing. Extend force is supplied by air pressure while the spring provides a fixed, non-adjustable return.
