SMC CDQ2B50TF-20SZ is a CQ2-Z series compact air cylinder with a 50 mm bore and 20 mm stroke, configured SINGLE ACTING, SPRING RETURN (action code S). Air pressure extends the rod and the internal spring returns it, so only one port is piped. Built-in magnet (D) for auto switch position sensing. Through-hole mounting (B) is standard, and the Z designation provides auto switch mounting grooves on 4 surfaces at this bore size. The TF port thread code specifies G (BSPP) threads, port size 1/4. Body option is standard, rod end female thread. Note the single acting minimum operating pressure of 0.13 MPa at 50 mm bore, considerably higher than the 0.05 MPa of the double acting version, because the spring force must be overcome. Single acting spring return gives a defined fail-safe retracted position when air is lost or an emergency stop is triggered, which is why it is chosen for stoppers, blockers, hold-downs and safety-relevant clamping on conveyors and assembly lines. At 20 mm this is the longest standard single acting stroke offered at 50 mm bore. Only one air line and a 3-port valve are required. Note the elevated 0.13 MPa minimum operating pressure: supply air must overcome the return spring before the rod will move.
