SMC CDQ2B32TF10TZ Compact Air Cylinder — 32 mm bore, 10 mm stroke, single acting spring extend. SMC CDQ2B32TF-10TZ is a CQ2-Z series compact air cylinder with a 32 mm bore and 10 mm stroke, single acting single rod with spring extend. The B mounting style is through-hole (standard) and the TF port thread type is G (BSPP), giving a G1/8 port on this bore. The leading D denotes a built-in auto switch magnet, and the Z suffix provides the auto switch mounting groove on 4 surfaces (oe32 to oe50 on the single acting type). Air retracts the rod and the internal spring extends it, so the cylinder fails safe to the extended position on air loss, the opposite of the S spring return variant. Media is air, proof pressure 1.5 MPa and maximum operating pressure 1.0 MPa. Minimum operating pressure for the single acting oe32 type is 0.17 MPa, substantially higher than the 0.05 MPa of the double acting version. Selected where the rod must drive out and stay out if air pressure is lost, for example spring-applied clamps, brakes, hold-down fixtures and drop-away guards. Air is applied to retract the rod, and the internal spring extends it, giving a fail-safe extended state with a single air line. Because the spring opposes the air stroke, minimum operating pressure is 0.17 MPa on this bore and the theoretical extend output is lower than an equivalent double acting cylinder, so size the actuator against the true holding load.
