SMC CDQ2B2040DZ Compact Air Cylinder — 20 mm bore, 40 mm stroke, standard rod end female thread (no body option). SMC CDQ2B20-40DZ is a CQ2-Z series compact air cylinder with a 20 mm bore and 40 mm stroke. Double acting, single rod, with a built-in magnet (CDQ2 prefix D) for auto switch position sensing. Mounting style B is the standard through-hole body. No body option letter is used, so the rod end has the standard female thread. Auto switch mounting groove Z allows switches to be fitted on 2 sides for bores 12 to 25 mm with no switch projection. Port thread is M5 x 0.8 for the 20 mm bore. Supplied without auto switches.

CDQ2B20-40DZ Applications

This is the baseline 20 mm bore, 40 mm stroke compact cylinder for space-restricted automation: jig clamping, stopper and lifter duties, small gate and shutter actuation, and pick-and-place sub-motions where a full-size cylinder will not fit the envelope. The standard female-threaded rod end accepts a stud or screw-in tooling adaptor. The built-in magnet plus Z auto switch groove means position feedback can be added later without changing the cylinder.
