SMC CDQ2B2040DMZ Compact Air Cylinder — 20 mm bore, 40 mm stroke, rod end male thread (M option). SMC CDQ2B20-40DMZ is a CQ2-Z series compact air cylinder with a 20 mm bore and 40 mm stroke. Double acting, single rod, with a built-in magnet (CDQ2 prefix D) for auto switch position sensing. Mounting style B is the standard through-hole body. Body option M provides a rod end male thread instead of the standard female thread. Auto switch mounting groove Z allows switches to be fitted on 2 sides for bores 12 to 25 mm with no switch projection. Port thread is M5 x 0.8 for the 20 mm bore. Supplied without auto switches.

CDQ2B20-40DMZ Applications

Use this compact cylinder where panel depth is tight but a firm 20 mm bore push is needed over a 40 mm stroke, such as clamping fixtures, indexing stops, part ejectors and small press or transfer stations. The male-threaded rod end mates directly with rod end nuts, clevises and floating joints, so it is a good fit when the load is coupled by a bolt-on linkage. The built-in magnet and Z groove let D-M9 style auto switches confirm end positions for PLC interlocks.
