SMC CDQ2B1210SZ Compact Air Cylinder — 12mm bore, 10mm stroke, SINGLE ACTING SPRING RETURN (S) - air extends, spring retracts, through-hole (B) mount, M5 x 0.8 port, built-in magnet. SMC CDQ2B12-10SZ is a CQ2-Z series compact air cylinder with a 12 mm bore and 10 mm stroke. The S action code means single acting, spring return: air pressure extends the rod and an internal spring retracts it when air is exhausted, so the rod fails to the retracted position. Through-hole (B) mounting body, standard rod end female thread and M5 x 0.8 port thread. The CDQ2 prefix denotes a built-in magnet for direct mounting of D-M9 auto switches in the grooves (2 surfaces). Operates on air at a maximum 1.0 MPa with 1.5 MPa proof pressure, and because it works against the spring the minimum operating pressure is 0.25 MPa. No cushion. Specified where the rod must return automatically on loss of air, giving a safe, defined retracted rest position for clamps, stops, gates and ejectors. Single acting also halves the plumbing, needing only one air line and a 3-port valve, which simplifies compact machine builds. The 12 mm bore and 10 mm stroke suit light-duty jig and fixture work, and the built-in magnet supports D-M9 auto switches for PLC position confirmation. Note the higher 0.25 MPa minimum operating pressure needed to overcome the return spring.
