SMC CDQ2A1615DMZ Compact Air Cylinder — 16 mm bore, 15 mm stroke, D double acting with M rod end male thread body option, both-ends-tapped mount, built-in magnet. SMC CDQ2A16-15DMZ is a CQ2-Z series standard compact cylinder, double acting, single rod, with a 16 mm bore and 15 mm stroke. The leading D denotes a built-in magnet for auto switch mounting. Mounting code A is both ends tapped. Action code D is double acting. Body option M specifies the rod end male thread in place of the standard female thread; a rod end nut is supplied for the male thread version. With no C in the body option the cylinder is supplied without a rubber bumper. The trailing Z is the CQ2-Z auto switch mounting groove, provided on 2 surfaces for bores 12 to 25 mm. Fluid is air, proof pressure 1.5 MPa, maximum operating pressure 1.0 MPa, minimum operating pressure 0.07 MPa, piston speed 50 to 500 mm/s, lubrication not required.

CDQ2A16-15DMZ Applications

The M body option gives a male-threaded piston rod, which is the version to specify when the load is attached with a rod end nut, a knuckle joint, a floating joint or a proprietary tooling adaptor that screws onto the rod rather than into it. At 16 mm bore and 15 mm stroke it fits small clamping, gating, ejecting and short-transfer tasks in tight machine spaces. Both-ends-tapped mounting allows fixing from either cover face, and the built-in magnet lets D-M9 series auto switches drop into the body groove for stroke-end position feedback.
