SMC CDG3BN2050 Round Body Air Cylinder — 20mm Bore, 50mm Stroke. SMC CG3 series short type round body air cylinder, double acting, single rod, with built-in magnet (CD prefix) for auto switch mounting. Basic (B) mounting, rubber bumper cushion (N), male rod end. 20 mm bore, 50 mm stroke. The CG3 is the short body version of the CG1: overall length is reduced and the cushion option is rubber bumper only, with no air cushion variant. Fluid air, non-lube. Maximum operating pressure 0.7 MPa, minimum operating pressure 0.05 MPa, proof pressure 1.0 MPa. Piston speed 50 to 1000 mm/s. Allowable kinetic energy 0.2 J with male rod end. Ambient and fluid temperature -10 to 70 C without auto switch, -10 to 60 C with auto switch. Stroke length tolerance +1.4/0 mm. Mounting options are basic, foot, rod flange, head flange and clevis. Rod end nut supplied as standard. Note the CG3 part number carries no trailing Z suffix, unlike the CG1-Z series.

CDG3BN20-50 Applications

The CG3 short type is chosen when installation depth is limited and a standard CG1 will not fit, since the overall body length is shorter for the same bore and stroke. A 20 mm bore with 50 mm stroke suits light clamping, part ejection, small gate and stopper duties in compact assembly and inspection machines. The built-in magnet allows D-M9 or D-A9 auto switches to be mounted on the barrel for position sensing, and rubber bumpers absorb end of stroke impact.
